FLOODS RELIEF FUNDRAISING
Millions of people have been affected and are highly vulnerable by severe flooding in Southern and northern part of Pakistan. Recent heavy rains in Sindh,KPK and Punjab have killed thousands of people due to urban flooding and have swept away livestock, properties and valuables of worth billion of Rupees. Donations will provide immediate relief to survivors in form of supplies (food, shelter, water, and medicine) in addition to long-term recovery assistance to help residents recover and rebuild.
Challenge
Hundreds of people, including women and children, died after they were swept away in a flash flood caused by monsoon rains in Karachi and high-level river flood in North, Southern and Western parts of Pakistan in almost all major provinces of Pakistan. Hundreds were reported to be missing in Southern Punjab and Baluchistan. The flood had taken away a thousand acres of agricultural land, livestock and also have destroyed food in all over Pakistan.
Solution
All donations to this fund will support recovery and relief efforts for flooding and monsoons in Pakistan. Initially, the fund will help survivors’ immediate needs for shelter food, fuel, clean water and hygiene products. Once initial relief work is complete, this fund will help the locals to rehabilitate.
Long-Term Impact
TWF Pakistan will provide long-term support to survivors and communities of natural disasters like these floods. TWF will prepare people to respond to emergencies more effectively through Disaster Risk Reduction Training. Donors will be reported about the funds utilized through reports and pictures. Local Volunteer forces will be prepared to help people in need.
